The macabre death of a Kitui County official has elicited mixed reactions with a majority of netizens decrying the alarming rate at which the murder cases are prevalent.
The National Youth Council official was found dead and strangled in a thicket 25 Kilometres from Kitui town.
Kitui County Governor Charity Ngilu has yet to give a statement on the disturbing murder of the county official.
Reports indicate that the slain public officer, Mr Benjamin Kinyali, was an ardent supporter of Governor Ngilu both during and after the campaigns of 2017.
The shocking revelation came Thursday, April, 18 when murdered Moi University student Ivy Wangeci will be laid to rest.
A local Radio station reported that police have locked up at least seven people suspected to have participated in the crime, and investigations are ongoing.
The Kitui County Chairman for the National Youth Council, Aggrey Nzomo, sent his mourned the Youthful budding politician, remarking that Kinyali was a”youth leader with outstanding leadership qualities.”
Kinyali, Nzomo noted, was a generous man and a man whose integrity was not questionable.
His untimely departure leaves behind an emotionally and psychologically disturbed youth fraternity, friends and family,” he added.
