Lacazette’s thunderbolt guides Arsenal into the Europa league semi finals

Arsenal booked a slot in the Europa League semi finals for the second year running following a 1-0 quarter final second leg win over Italian side Napoli in Naples. The win mean that the gunners ran out 3-0 aggregate winners over the two legs.

Alexander Lacazette scored the only goal in the first half from a fierce free-kick meaning that Carlo Ancelotti’s side had to score four goals to advance. The only slight concern for Unai Emery’s side was Aaron Ramsey’s injury in the first half. The Juventus bound midfielder was replaced by Henrik Mikhitaryan shortly before Arsenal’s winner.

Arsenal will now face Spanish side Valencia in the Semi’s they knocked out Villareal. It will be the first time Unai Emerr face a team he once managed having being with valencia before he joined Sevilla whom he won 3 Europa League titles in a row.

Arsenal now shifts focus to the Premier League where they face fellow Londoners Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
