In broad daylight, Ivy was hacked to death close to the Emergency wing of Eldoret Moi Referral Hospital by her alleged boyfriend after monitoring her moves through the help of her best friend.

Hundreds of mourners who include students and local leaders have gathered for her send-off in Mahiga.

Mourners arrived dressed in black attire, with green scarfs around their shoulders.

Students of Moi University, where Ivy was a sixth-year medical student, carried the casket bearing her remains from the hearse that ferried her body from Kenyatta University mortuary in Nairobi.

Among the hundreds of mourners were local leaders, among them Othaya MP Gichuki Mugambi, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and Nyeri Woman Representative Rahab Mukami.

Ivy Wangechi’s sister, Cheryl, overcome by emotion was unable to read her tribute.

May her soul RIP!
