Introducing Ruto’s 2022 Running Mate

The tag #Vote4Ruto was trending for the better part of Wednesday morning. Denis Itumbi, Ruto’s chief social media propagandist has denied this tag.

And so we ask ourselves, who is behind this tag? Well, going through the tweets, Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu has been heavily mentioned. According to our sources, Waititu is behind the hashtag.

In fact, it is believed that Waititu used some county government funds to buy 500 phones which are being used by his boys on Twitter.

It seems Ferdinand Waititu wants to be Ruto’s running mate in 2022. That is the message that has been circulated on this otherwise stupid tag.

Waititu was on his political deathbed before the unceremonious demise of former Kabete MP George Muchai gave him a lifeline.

The current Kiambu governor had vied for Nairobi governorship in 2013 but was controversially beaten by Evans Kidero. He won the Kabete Constituency by-elections in 2015.

After that, he embarked on campaigning to Kiambu governor against the powerful William Kabogo.

Ruto viewed Kabogo as a threat to his 2022 ambition. He therefore worked a way to bring him down in 2017 elections. Part of this was using propaganda, painting him as a boastful person.

It is Ruto who made Waititu governor of Kiambu. And Baba yao knows this very well. He is currently the only Mt. Kenya governor who is publicly drumming up support for the hustler.

Ruto and Waititu have attended so many functions together both in Kiambu and outside Kiambu.

Does this mean that Waititu is the apparent running mate? Well, this would be a long shot.

Ruto is currently fighting to control the Jubilee Party, with the Kieleweke tea hell bent on ensuring he doesn’t become President. If he runs for the presidency on a Jubilee ticket, then he must choose a running from Mt. Kenya region.

Kerinyaga governor Anne Waiguru and Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri are viewed as far better options that Baba Yao.

But these is politics and anythinf can change. But would a Ruto, Waititu ticket clinch the Presidency?
