DCI nabs Mombasa heroin syndicate and other top crime news

On Tuesday, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) busted a gang trafficking narcotics in Mombasa. The investigations resulted in the arrest of two suspects; 37 yr-old Fatuma Mohamed and 50 yr-old Mosuo Bakari.

Cash believed to be proceeds from the drugs and heroin weighing approximately 2.5kgs was also confiscated.

Elsewhere, a Police Constable based in Kitengela was arrested in Embakasi for demanding money with menaces.

The suspect, Steve Omondi, allegedly arrested a Man for undisclosed offence within Kasarani area and demanded for Ksh.25,000 to secure his release. Motor vehicle(Toyota Mark II)detained.

A motor vehicle (Mark II) used by the suspect was detained.

DCI detectives has also neutralized a gang of armed robbers terrorizing residents of Mlango Kubwa.

According to DCI, the gang refused to surrender; leaving two fatally injured while one escaped.

Two victims were robbed during the fiasco leaving one in critical condition. A Revolver loaded with three rounds of ammunition and a Somali sword were recovered.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal investigation, on Tuesday morning raided a premise along Kiboko/Mukoma road which led to the recovery of millions of fake US Dollars, Zambian Kwachas and over 100 kilograms of fake Gold nuggets.

According to DCI, four foreigners: among them Congolese, Tanzanians, a Nigerian and four Kenyans were arrested.
