Bomb threat panic at JKIA Airport after ‘incident on-board’

A bomb threat aboard a South African aircraft forced security agencies at the Jomo Kenyatta international to call for a temporary lockdown at the airport a few minutes after passengers had boarded the departing flight from the airport.

It is alleged that Passengers on board the plane were forced to disembark the aircraft to be searched.

The plane was also searched thoroughly as well as passengers’ luggage. It’s alleged that the scare came when passengers and crew were on board at the time.

It is alleged that two passengers were held over the incident.

This comes after four suspects linked to the terror attack at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in January 2014 were released citing insufficient evidence.

They were charged with nine counts of being in possession of explosives, acquiring registration falsely, carrying out a terrorist act at the JKIA and obtaining passports fraudulently.
