The Brazil international left Liverpool to move to the Camp Nou back in January 2018 for an initial £105m. United had been linked with a move for the former Liverpool star who could depart the Nou Camp this summer.

Philippe Coutinho is weighing up his options ahead of a potential move away from Barcelona, according to reports.

Liverpool are believed to be keeping an eye on Coutinho’s future while Chelsea may also be interested despite their transfer ban.

But Coutinho has failed to establish himself in Spain, partially because of his cursed house. He was the red herring of the January transfer window as Manchester United and Chelsea were both linked with a move that suited all parties involved.

It’s now reported that the Brazilian ruled out the Red Devils after being jeered by United fans during the first leg of Barcelona’s Champions League clash with Manchester United last week.

Ernesto Valverde started Coutinho in the match with United fans booing the Brazil international when he was on the pitch. The reception he received has ‘convinced’ Coutinho to give United a swerve if he decides he wants to leave Barca in the summer transfer window.

Coutinho doesn’t want to betray his former supporters and knows a move to United would do exactly that. Speculation surrounding Coutinho’s future has continued to grow despite the 26-year-old insisting he is happy at Barcelona.

“My head is exclusively in Barcelona,” Coutinho recently said. Returning to England now does not fit into my plans. This is my second season here. I have won titles but I am always an ambitious and demanding player. So, I want more and more.”

“But I’m happy. I wanted to play in Spain and I’m at the best club in Spain. I know that games against Manchester United are special”

Coutinho could line up against Manchester United again this week when they meet in the second leg of their last-eight tie. The former Liverpool man was ineffective during the first leg, though will be hoping to have more of a say on home turf.
