Musician Akothee has been on the front line in helping the hunger-stricken Kenyans. Over the weekend, she held a charity foundation concert to raise money which would continue helping Turkana county residents and saving their lives from the drought.
Unfortunately, she has cancelled her trip to Turkana because her father has been hospitalised. She broke the sad news through her social media accounts where she wrote; “I regret to say that I am unable to make it to Turkana this week due to Unavoidable. My Dad has been taken ill. It was a lovely evening and we were just talking about our next show and laughing at how he catches feelings when @foky_mopao steal his charger.
Cebbie_koks_nyasego had just came in, and my mom prepared food for him, he din’tfinish his food , there was a moment of silence and that’s how we ended up in hospital , we are still here with my family, Get well soon TINGANA . Its gonna be a long night.We LOVE YOU.”
Akothee won Kenyans hearts after she stepped out to support Turkana residents after the government denied the fact that lives were being lost due to hunger. She donated food and water. Going back to Nairobi, she started a collection centre at Wilson airport where she pleade with Kenyans to take their donations which in return would be airlifted to Turkana county.
