Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson injury news ahead of Porto CL Clash

Liverpool head to Portugal this midweek for their Champions League quarterfinal second-leg against Porto.

The Reds are 2-up from the first-leg at Anfield.

Naby Keita broke the deadlock for Liverpool with a deflected strike after five minutes.

Roberto Firmino scored Liverpool’s second in the 26th minute after a brilliant Liverpool attack carved the Dragons open.

Fears for Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson
Will Jordan Henderson be fit for Liverpool on Wednesday night at Porto?

Henderson was subbed out of the 2-0 win over Chelsea in the second half. James Milner replaced him.

Liverpool’s captain appeared to leave the Chelsea match with an ankle injury.

However, in his post match comments, Jurgen Klopp was optimistic that Henderson would be available for the Porto game:

He got a knock on his ankle, that’s pretty much all. He was fine after the game.

A bit of pain, no problem, [he] didn’t twist [it]. It’s only painful, not a problem.

Joe Gomez & Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Could Joe Gomez and/or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain be involved against Porto?

Gomez was named on the subs bench in the quarterfinal first-leg.

While on Sunday against Leicester U23, both Gomez and Oxlade-Chamberlain were named in the Reds starting XI.

What appears clear is that the England international are both nearing a return to first team action.
