Ladies, with the recent events, have been left in a catch-22 situation, not knowing what to do with adamant suitors. Take their money you are doomed, refuse the money, same case.
A Moi University student- Ivy Wangechi- accepted ‘generous’ giftings from a suitor to whom she had not committed to and ended up being hacked to death by the same man.
The murder was pitted against her on social media, with some claiming that she called for her own death by accepting the money.
According to the murder suspect, Naftali Kinuthia, who is reported to have been Ivy’s adamant suitor, he was prompted to hack Ivy in broad daylight because “she was ignoring him”.
“He said he sent her some money to arrange the event. Since then, the woman refused to pick his calls, said the suspect. That is what prompted him to travel to Eldoret from Thika. He said he wanted to know why she was ignoring him,” he told Citizen Digital.
“According to him, the girl told him that she was going to her residential place to take off her professional attire. She told him she would be back. However, upon reaching her residential place, the woman switched off her phone, effectively blocking her planned meeting with him,” revealed Eldoret East DCI chief.

Barely a week after the Ivy Wangechi murder, in comes another student, from Pwani University reported to have been stabbed after having refused money from a suitor.
With this occurrence, clearly ladies are damned if they do and still damned if they don’t.
In the same vein, those who blamed the lady for taking money, including media personality Jalang’o were called out to now state their case for the lady who still got attacked for refusing her suitor’s ‘giftings’.
So is it really money that is the problem, or simply delluded criminals posing as ‘boyfriends’?
All in all, yet another addition to the debate. Sex.
