Exclusive images of Wangeci’s killer, Kinuthia in court

The main suspect in the murder of Moi University Medicine student Ivy Wangechi has been detained for 14 days.

Naftali Kinuthia, 28, will spend the next two weeks in police custody to allow police to complete investigations into the brutal murder.

Kinuthia was arraigned on Monday at an Eldoret court and the judge granted the prosecution’s request for more time to detain him pending conclusion of investigations.

The court also instructed that Kinuthia be allowed medical access at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) during his detainment; He sustained injuries after a mob descended on him as he tried to get away after hacking Ivy with an axe.

The case is set to be mentioned on April 30.

Speaking to Eldoret East DCI boss Ali Kingi, Kinuthia earlier claimed that despite investing emotions and money in the deceased, she did not reciprocate, provoking the attack.
