Governor Mike Sonko Comes to the Aid of Troubled Gor Mahia Again

The troubles facing Kenyan Champions Gor Mahia have again caught the eye of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko who has once again come out of his comfort zone to paint a smile on the faces of the troubled Kogallo players.

On Saturday saw viral pictures showing Gor Mahia players stranded at the Airport as they slept on the floor after they faced challenges flying to Morocco do rounds in the internet.

The pictures led to a widespread uproar among Kogallo fans with many calling out the Club’s management to resign.

The Club management would later respond saying the players sending photos from the airport lounge in Doha are ‘naughty’ and ‘mischevious’.

Well, Governor Sonko, who is also the ambassador of good deeds has directed his helping hand towards Gor’s camp ahead of a crucial CAF confederations Cup Match against RS Berkane tonight.

Sonko sent 500,000 Kenyan Shillings to Kogallo captain Harun Shakava via Western Union and promised to wire the remaining amount on Monday.

This money, the governor say’s is meant to boost the morale of the players ahead of Tonight’s match.

“Gor Mahia is a club representing Kenya. It is unfortunate that they had travel challenges. I was requested to boost their morale ahead of the game tonight, so I have sent the players 1 million shillings. It doesn’t matter if they win or lose tonight, they are our team in the competition,”Sonko said.
