‘You are our Messi’ Tottenham Fans Praise Wanyama after Stunning goal

Victor Wanyama rarely scores, but when he does, it is something that fans talk about for years.

And his scintillating goal against Huddersfield has got Tottenham fans comparing him with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

Tottenham might have won the game 4-0 but it was Wanyama, who gave them the lead in the 24th minute with the most beautiful goal scored at the newly refurbished magnificent White Hart Lane.

And they put their best foot forward against Huddersfield, going into half-time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 2-0 up.

The ball was played from the left wing by Ben Davies.

It came to the feet of Fernando Llorente but he is under pressure from the Huddersfield defender, his touch too heavy.  The forward has support, though, from the midfielder running into the penalty box onto the loose ball.

Wanyama flicks the ball beyond Terence Kongolo, with only the keeper in his way.

And the 27-year-old kept his composure to move the ball away from Huddersfield’s diving goalkeeper. And the Kenyan has an open goal to slot the ball into for the lead.

The 60,000-seater stadium then erupts as the home side celebrate their lead.

But they were not the only ones celebrating. The Spurs faithful on social media heaped praise on the defensive midfielder for his goal-scoring run.

Wanyama’s goal was however shadowed by the Brilliance of Brazilian winger Lucas Moura who bagged a hat trick.

This was Wanyama’s first goal for Tottenham, since January 2018 when he scored a rocket against Liverpool.

We hope the goal gives him confidence as he continues with his injury comeback.
