A doctor has proposed a petition to have Moi University medical student, slain Ivy Wangeci be granted a posthumous degree.
Njoki Ngumi a general practice doctor currently based at Pumwani Maternity Hospital also suggested that a women’s laboratory or ward be named after Ivy.
According to the practicing doctor, this will be the best way to honor ladies who have suffered brutal murder perpetrated by cruel men.
However, in response, The Consumers Federation of Kenya, CoFeK revealed that posthumous degrees are not tenable when the candidate had not cleared their studies.
“Unless its a honorary degree, there can be no post-humous degree for anyone who hadn’t cleared study. The best honour, like Stella Awinja at @uonbi, is to name a student’s hostel after her. Lab or Ward may not be apt.”
Our thoughts and prayers to the family, friends and colleagues. Unless its a honorary degree, there can be no post-humous degree for anyone who hadn't cleared study. The best honour, like Stella Awinja at @uonbi, is to name a student's hostel after her. Lab or Ward may not be apt
