Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichugwa has blasted ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna for disrespecting the deputy president William Ruto.

Ichungwa a close ally of deputy president States that Sifuna who represent ODM as secretary general should cease from mentioning the DP name.

This is after Sifuna on Wednesday released a press release condemning Deputy President William Ruto following an exclusive interview on Citizen TV.

The SG termed Ruto as a “pathological liar with an almost deranged mentality” over claims that ODM party leader Raila Odinga approached him four times for a truce before his March 9, 2018 handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ichung’wa described the Raila-led party official as “mouth-running” and accused him of destroying the more than 15-year-old outfit.

Ichugwa said that Sifuna has no political experience after he failed to clinch Nairobi senatorial seat 2017.

He accused Sifuna of propagating tribal politics across the Country by propagating outdated politics.

In a statement meant to debunk Ruto’s statement against Mr. Odinga, ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna said that Ruto lied throughout an interview he had with Citizen’s Hussein Mohammed.

“Among these lies was that the Rt Hon Raila Odinga approached him four times prior to the famous handshake for purposes he did not disclose. This would be laughable if the accusation didn’t raise such grave concerns,” said Sifuna.

In a rejoinder, Ruto through his secretary communications David Mugonyi said Sifuna’s statement did not seem to have been an official word from the ODM party.

“The incoherent, rabid juvenile rant by Sifuna is so ridiculously uneducated, spectacularly unhinged, desperately delusional that out of compassion, it must be forgiven and ignored,” he said.

“We don’t believe that ODM -even in its current dire straits- has fallen this low.”
