The handshake between president Uhuru Kenyatta and former prime minister Raila Odinga has been termed as the best working deal that Kenya has ever signed.
Though a section of the politicians allied to the DP is much against it, political pundit believes that Kenya has benefited a lot.
It immediately triggered new political realignments as suspicion and mistrust began to rock the two major political formations — Jubilee and Nasa.
Raila has since been named AU high Representative for Infrastructure Development, while Wiper leader Kalonzo is peace envoy for South Sudan. The new assignment has particularly diminished Raila’s role in local politics even as Nasa disintegrates.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga has criticized people opposed to his ongoing political camaraderie with President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying that it was for the benefit of all Kenyans.
Speaking in Nyamira County a few months ago Mr. Odinga said he was receiving all manner of accusations from those who were uncomfortable with his decision to reconcile with President Kenyatta but insisted that there was no turning back.
Mr. Odinga revealed that every development in the country since the handshake took place was a clear indication of the direction the country has chosen to take, referring to the Building Bridges initiative that is in the process of discussing critical reforms for the country.
Also, Oscar Sudi and Kipchumba Morkomen have led a massive attack on the Odinga and Uhuru accusing them of hypocrisy and plan to kill Ruto’s political career.
Also, Kamanda lead team has said that Ruto is mistreating president Uhuru y his clarion calls on 2022 politics.
The 18 mps lead team has vowed that the spirit of handshake is protected and no one is expected to demoralize Uhuru nor Odinga.
Nyeri town Mp Ngunjiri Wambugu said that the DP is very corrupt and he can’t e allowed to lead the country.
The team has vowed to champion a political party for their presidential candidate.
They have accused the DP of targeting some members who are against his presidential ambition in 2022.
Also speaking at a local Tv former Jubilee interim vice chair David Murathe accused the DP of reviving his URP political party in preparation for 2022
“What are those guys doing with yellow URP t-shirts if he isn’t reviving the party,”Murathe said.
