Irregularities in the distribution of tile deeds has landed a Lands Ministry official in Meru behind bars.
The Meru Lands Registrar George Njoroge was taken in by police under allegations that he oversaw the illegal issuance of land documentation during his tenure in Machakos County.
The official was arrested on Thursday at 8:30 am and taken to the KBC police station in Matungulu Sub County awaiting trial.
“The officer was arrested over irregular issuance of land title deeds in Machakos County where he served in the same position for about eight years before he was transferred to Meru County a month ago,” said Matungulu Sub County police commander Isaac Thuranera.
