Chief Justice David Maraga on Friday launched the refurbishment of the Court of Appeal in Mombasa.
The Judiciary boss was accompanied by dignitaries including Mombasa Count Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Judiciary Chief Registrar Anne Amadi as well as other members of the judicial arm of government.
Governor Joho similarly welcomed the CJ warmly, expressing optimism in the role of the judiciary in his county due to the new establishment.
“Today I joined Chief Justice Hon. David Maraga at the official opening of a building that will house the court of Appeal in Mombasa,”Joho said adding that the move will speed up the wheels of Justice besides bringing services closer to our people.
The refurbishment of the court in Mombasa ought to improve the dispensation of justice as it comprises key roles of the judiciary, having only six registries in the country. The Court of Appeal is only found in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nyeri, Kisumu, Nakuru and Eldoret.
