ODM is still the strongest, Etale reveals

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has been under scrutiny following the defeat in the two Ugenya and Embakasi South by-election.

However, the Director of Communications Philip Etale has come out to defend the party claiming that it is still the strongest party around.

While taking to twitter to Etale said, “ODM remains the biggest & strongest party in Kenya. Records at the Registrar of Political Parties show that @TheODMparty leads the rest in compliance. The Auditor General’s report is very positive on ODM. Other parties just struggle to comply and fit in the provisions of the law. “

In a tweet Thursday, Etale added that ODM is the strongest political formation in the nation, as far as data from the registrar of political parties is concerned.

In addition, he said that the opposition boss Raila Odinga-led side has been cleared by the Auditor General’s office, and leads as the others struggle to comply with the lawThe Auditor General’s report is very positive on ODM. Other parties just struggle to comply and fit in the provisions of the law,” said Etale.

However, his remarks about the party’s strength come only a week after it suffered double defeat in Embakasi South and Ugenya parliamentary by-elections which were held last Friday.

The losses, especially in Ugenya which falls under Raila’s Siaya county bedrock, has raised questions on the party’s grip in Luo Nyanza, leave alone other parts of the country.
