Goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo was the man of the match as Bandari FC knocked out Gor Mahia FC out of the FKF Shield after claiming 5-4 shoot-out victory in the Round of 16
The match was forced to go to the shootouts after it ended 1-1 in regular time and it was Shikalo that ultimatley settled it, saving Samuel Onyango’s spotkick before stepping up to score the decisive penalty.
Bandari thus sealed qualification to the quarter-finals of the domestic cup competition with Gor’s defeat coming off the back of another cup loss at the hands of RS Berkane just three days ago.
After a goalless draw, Bandari took an early lead in the second half after Yema Mwana’s cross was headed home by Ugandan forward William Wadri for his first goal in two months.

Both sides were forced to make some changes when veteran Shaban Kenga saw his foot injured and Benjamin Mosha came into his place in the 61st minute.
It was the same case to Hassan Oktay’s side when Shafik Batambuze hibbled off and Geoffrey Ochieng was in place to replace the custodian.
As the match went on,Oktay decided to inject some fresh legs in his attcking line probably in search for a winning goal,the tactian made some quick changes but a brilliant defensive show from Bernard Odhiambo denied Gor on many occassions.

Bandari will now switch their focus in a league assignment as they prepare to visit Western Stima on Sunday while Gor have a crucial return leg CAF Confideration fixture where they have to overtun a 2-0 defeat against RS Berkane in Morocco.
