Deputy President William Ruto has refuted claims that he fired former sport cabinet minister Rashid Achesa.
While appearing on a talk show,the DP said that the former CS was fired by the same authority that had appointed him to the power.
” Its better we left the issue to the appointing authority,”the DP said ,the statement has been viewed as if was refering to the head of state.
The DP said that the hiring authority cannot be questioned by anyone since its superior.
“The question is why was he hired? I think the same hiring authority reserves the right to fire with or without an explanation,” Ruto said.
Over the last three months, the former Cs has been calling for an explanation on why he was fired.
His place has since been taken by Ambassador Amina Mohammed who was moved from the Education docket which was consequently taken by George Magoha.
Before joining the ruling Jubilee Party, Echesa was a youth leader at the opposition’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
The former Cs had accused former prime minister Raila Odinga of being behind his woes.
Rashid, who was at one time the ODM national youth leader before defecting to Jubilee, claims Raila was unhappy with his appointment.
He said in a video, which was widely shared online, that the suspected plot to remove him defeats the spirit of the handshake.
Several Jubilee politicians allied to the DP has been pointing a finger to the opposition of plot to wreck the Jubilee party.
