Deputy president William Ruto had promised the National team Harambee stars Ksh 50 million if they win their game that gave them a chance to enter AFCON.

Netizens have been urging the Deputy President to honor his promise and award the team after it was reported that the money was not paid.

Sports Principal Secretary Kirimi Kaberia on February 19th could not confirm whether the Sh50 million was part of the Sh242 million set aside for Harambee Stars’ Afcon preparations.

“I have not checked the budget to see what items have been entered, so I am not in a position to tell whether the Sh50 million is part of this particular allocation or not,” he said.

However, on April 9th, Dennis Itumbi, the Secretary of Digital Innovations & Diaspora Presidency tweeted saying that the deputy president has honored and paid the Ksh 50 million.
