‘Ogopa Ruto!’ Kenyans troll ODM after withdrawing from Wajir by-elections

The ODM Party has been a butt of all jokes on social media after withdrawing their candidate from the Wajir West by-elections.

Even though the party said that it was withdrawing its candidate in the spirit of the handshake, Kenyans believe that this has everything to do with last week’s embarrassing home and away defeats in Ugenya and Embakasi South.

On Friday, ODM suffered a shock, after their candidates in the two by elections were beaten hands down. Irshad Sumra conceded defeat even before half the votes were counted in Embakasi South.

And now Kenyans have told them to say the truth on why they are really withdrawing from the race.

These by-elections have had only one winner, his name is William Ruto. ODM should be very afraid of the man from Sugoi.

There was opportunity to do so without appearing to be escaping defeat in advance. You want us to forget that your party leader has already campaigned there? But what are you thanking JP for when you lost in Embakasi S by a wide range? Ogopa Ulliam friendsβ€” CK Moses (@CKMoses1) April 9, 2019

And baba knows that a time has come for him to go to the drawing board. Bure itakua ngori.

Hatrick sio mizuri my friends …..i always tell politicians not to be exited by large crowd who attend your rallies…most who attend are jobless guys so they attend because that is what can keep them to forget hunger..πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚β€” Getang’enyi chacha. (@GetangenyiC) April 9, 2019

ODM shot themselves in the foot after using William Ruto’s name to campaign in Ugenya.

And the withdrawal from Wajir West, will just compound their woes, especially coming at a time when they should be looking to bounce back.

IEBC cleared five candidates to contest in the Wajir West constituency by-election.

The candidates include Ali Noor Abdi (LPK), Ibrahim Mohamud (KANU), Mohamed Yussuf (ODM), Ahmed Kolosh (Jubilee) and Abbas Nunow (AGANO).

The seat fell vacant after the Supreme Court nullified the election of Mohamed Kolosh in January.

Kolosh, a former ODM member, was then lured to Jubilee by WIlliam Ruto.
