‘Mapenzi ya Kukata Na shoka’ Kenyans React to Murder of Moi University Student

News that a 6th year student at Moi University had been hacked to death by her boyfriend have elicited different reactions with some Kenyans choosing to create humor from it.

Someone called described the whole episode with a “Mapenzi ya Kukata Na shoka” which is as you know has a totally different meaning in this case.

Naftali Kinuthia, drove all the way from Thika to Eldoret and used an axe to hit his girlfriend before slaughtering her with a knife in broad day light.

And some people are not happy with the way the police have handled the murder weapon. Shouldn’t they be a bit professional?

There has already been unconfirmed reports that Ivy had infected her boyfriend with HIV (Let it be known here that this might not be true)

The problem with Kenyans is that we like being so sensational. Someone comes up with a certain stupid claim on social media and idiots take it as gospel truth.

Venye watu wanaongea, unaezafikiria walikua na huyu dame akipimwa ukedi. What is wrong with us? We are so desperate for attention that someone even killed Kibra MP Ken Okoth on Tuesday.

We forget that this girl has family. We also forget that anyone can be found in this situation including our friends and family.

Some Kenyans however chose to mourn this gorgeous lady whose life was ended untimely by a coward boyfriend who couldn’t solve his issues.

Our prayers are with the family of Ivy during this very trying moment.
