Akothee speaks about her long term plan for Turkana County

Kenyan Female artist Akothee has spoken about her  long term plan for Turkana County in relation to the ongoing drought situation.

Weeks ago, Akothee mobilized Kenyans to contribute towards the relief food to support Turkana residents.

The Singer says that she did not make this move simply because it was trending but because of the wisdom within her and the believe that she was in a position to do something about the crisis.

She however says that she planned on going alone but she felt like reaching out to see if she would get the support from Kenyans.

Although Kenyans ae concerned that this might happen over and over again, Akothee says that through the contributions received she designed long term plans that are yet to be implemented.

This includes fixing of boreholes and water tanks and also setting up medical camps equipped with practitioners that will provide free services to the residents.

Speaking on 10 over 10, Akothee also revealed that as a young girl, she grew up in Turkana and  this is one of the many reasons she wanted to take responsibility.

Akothee also added that people should stop complaining about the government and start asking themselves what they are doing as a people to make a difference.

The Singer says that although her actions triggered both love and hate reactions, this did not stop her from doing what she believed in.

Akothee has also planned for a concert that will be intentional to raise more funds to support the implementation of the Turkana long term plans.
