Miguna claims handshake is “eating”Odinga popularity

Embattled Lawyer Miguna Miguna has celebrated the defeat of the Odinga candidates in the by election held yesterday.

Miguna a friend turn foe to Odinga states that the Ugenya and Embakasi South by-election proved members of the Luo community were no longer hellbent on supporting the party leader, Raila Odinga.

For the longest time Miguna had been accusing Raila Odinga ODM of misleading the Luo community to worship him and the his family.

Taking to his Twitter account on Saturday, April 6, to express his joy over the loss of the two by-elections, Miguna said it proved Raila’s popularity among his kinsmen was fading.

He further insisted the loss was a result of Raila’s betrayal to his supporters by collaborating with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He warned that Kenyans were becoming alert and that the just concluded by-elections were a sign of things to come, noting that a revolution was in the works.

“”The compromised Kenyan media have disseminated propaganda that Luos, specifically, and Nairobi voters, generally, cannot defy Raila Odinga no matter how egregious his betrayals are,” said Miguna.

Also Deputy president William Ruto congratulated Mawathe and Mr Ochieng on the tweeter account.

The congratulated David Ochieng of Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG) Party and Wiper’s Julius Mawathe for emerging victorious in the Ugenya and Embakasi South parliamentary by-elections respectively.

Ochieng beat Christopher Karan of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) by 18,730 votes to 14,507 votes while Mawathe garnered 21,628 compared to Irshad Sumra’s 7,988.

The opposition has now accused the deputy president of scheming to wedge out Raila popularity.

On the other hand the poll loser mr Sumra has accused poor organizational campaign structure within the party.
