Who Man Utd Boss Solskjaer Wants To Stay From Darmian, Rojo, Herrera, Valencia And Mata

Manchester United boss Solskjaer has been tipped to offload Darmian, Rojo, Herrera, Valencia and Mata when the transfer window opens at the end of the season.

Damian is understood to crave a return to Italy having seen returns to Serie A fall through both last summer and in January.

Valencia’s time at the club is winding down with the Ecuador international poised to leave on a free.

The same can be said for Rojo who has played just twice under Solskjaer so far this season, and four times in total across all competitions.

Herrera’s contract expires at the end of the campaign and the Spain international is attracting interest from PSG.

And Mata’s current deal is also up.

The Sun say that Solskjaer is happy for Darmian, Rojo, Herrera and Valencia to leave the club to free up funds for a summer spending spree.

Yet he supposedly wants to keep hold of Mata.

The Spain international signed for United from Chelsea in January 2013 and is one of the most popular figures at the club.

He played a key role as the Red Devils won the FA Cup in 2015, netting in the final against Crystal Palace at Wembley.

And he was also vital as United won the EFL Cup and Europa League titles under Jose Mourinho in 2017.

Whether United are able to convince Mata to sign another contract, however, is something only time will tell.

Meanwhile, back in January, Mata insisted he was relaxed about his future – despite currently being in limbo.

“I’ve been in England for a while, but it’s true that at times you miss home, your family, your friends,” he told AS.

“But I don’t know if I’ll return to Spain in the near future.

“I’m calm, I’m at the fantastic club that is Manchester United, one of the biggest in the world.

“We are focused on finishing the season as well as possible and reaching our goal of a place in the Champions League.

“We would like to have other objectives but that is the reality. A coach came in who is a club legend and has give us confidence.”
