Ringtone wants Willy Paul to pull down ‘Hallelujah’ song after suing him

Gospel Singer Ringtone has finally sued Willy Paul over his Hallelujah Song

As revealed on his Instagram page, Ringtone says that he sued him at the Nairobi High Court.

The lawsuit seeks declaratory orders, an apology from the artist and an order to compel the artist to withdraw the offensive music from the public domain.

Willy Paul released his song with Nandy ‘Hallelujah’ 5 days ago and despite the criticism from Ringtone the song has over 1 Million views on Youtube.

As written in the statement shared by Ringtone, the lawsuit also intends to prohibit the said artist and others from mentioning religious terms in a manner that is offensive.

“The secular song is offensive in its use of some terminology against Christians. As a society we the law must balance the right to free expression with other fundamental freedoms such as the right to dignity and choice of religion.” reads statement in part.

It further indicates that uttering some of the song’s content is tantamount to hate speech and incitement.

Ringtone says that Willy Paul is not a Christian and his lyrics and song may be sung with the deliberate intention of wounding the religious feelings of others, particularly Christians.

The Gospel artist has been battling Willy Paul for a while now from casting out demons from him and now he has seemingly taken it further to the court.

Although Ringtone has broken the news, it is unclear whether he sued Willy Paul or this is yet another of his staged drama.
