According to Mwea-East OCPD Dorothy Gaitenga, Gitari told her he was not happy with his cousin Simon Muriithi having an affair with his Ex-wife, despite having separated seven years old ago.

It is alleged that Gitari, who comes from Kamucege Village in Mwea constituency, stabbed his cousin on Wednesday. Angry residents had been looking for the suspect since the incident.

According to Josephine Wawira, her ex-husband entered her rented house and demanded to know why Muriithi was visiting her.

In a heated exchange of words, he somehow managed to find a kitchen knife and stab Muriithi to death.
