Top leaders are boiling on hot soup ever since DPP Noordin Haji heightened graft war in the country.
In a Gazette notice dated April 5, Kenya’s chief public prosecutor has approved the prosecution of ODM candiate Mr. Chris Karan for forging a letter he used in the election petition filed by his rival and former MP David Ochieng’.
Mr. Noordin Haji gave the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), which investigated the origin of the hospital letter, the green light to file forgery charges against the candidate.
The EACC had earlier written to Haji seeking advice to institute legal proceedings against the politician.
The commission accused Karan of forging a letter used in his election petition.
The Supreme Court of Kenya had on December 2018 nullified Karan’s election and ordered the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct fresh elections in the constituency.
This comes as Ugenya constituents go to the ballot to elect a new MP and Karan is the ODM candidate.
