Your son…

Dear Lord, on judgment day please don’t punish me for I failed to listen to your Prophets. It’s hard to distinguish them nowadays you know!!!

Anyone with a sweet tongue will wake up one morning, set up a church & master all the Bible verses that quote tithe to read every Saturday and/or Sunday.

You hear it all the time.

I’m done with church.

I don’t really need to go to church…my relationship with God is personal.

I’ve had it with organized religion.

The church is a man-made invention, not God’s idea.

I completely understand why a growing number of people are bailing on church. Even people who used to lead in the church often stop attending and go on to open their own churches.

I get it.

The church is far from perfect. Life is complex. There are growing options. And the post-modern mind distrusts most things organized or institutional.

This isn’t a post about why people have left the church (that’s a different subject.) This is the first in a series of posts about church attenders who love God, appreciate the local church and are even involved in the local church, but who simply attend less often and question the intentions of church leaders, who fyi you be beyond reproach.

This are some of the reactions the video above has spanned:

God, should I follow such a man; a man who is accused of robbing church goers, a man who emotional and religuous integrity are questionable not only in my eyes but most of, and I mean we can be wrong, but are we?

God, please forgive me.. I just need a better sense of direction.
