Sharon’s Ghost Prevents Obado from hosting Raila

It seems the ghost of Sharon Otieno has come back to haunt Migori governor Okoth Obado.

Obado will not receive ODM leader Raila Odinga, when he visits Migori County on Friday thanks to Sharon.

Raila will be in Awendo for the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of a KMTC college and Obado cannot attend the function because Awendo is very close to Homa Bay County.

“I would have wished to join Raila Odinga and the people of Awendo in the commissioning of the KMTC.

“Unfortunately the orders given by the court in the Sharon Otieno murder case bar me from stepping into Awendo town because of its proximity to Homa Bay County,” the Governor explained at a Press briefing on Thursday, April 4.

Obado, however, expressed optimism that one day he will have his freedom to access every part of his county and beyond.

Awendo MP Walter Owino has confirmed that the AU envoy will visit the constituency to inspect various projects.

Sharon was murdered in September 2018. The Rongo University student, who was pregnant with Obado’s baby was gang-raped before being stabbed eight times.

Obado and his two aides; Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero have since been charged with the murder.

The hearing starts in May.
