Chelsea star Eden Hazard hopes Tottenham’s trophy drought continues for many years amid the fanfare that accompanied the opening of their new stadium on Wednesday.

Spurs finally moved into their glitzy 62,000 home last night and secured a much needed 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace which ended a run of five games without a win.

The battle for the remaining Champions League qualifying places intensified as Hazard inspired his side’s 3-0 win over struggling Brighton at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard acknowledges that Spurs have come a long way in the seven years he has been playing in England but hopes their lack of silverware under Mauricio Pochettino continues.

‘I think Tottenham for two or three years hhasbeen one of the best teams in England. That is for sure,’ he said.

We are Chelsea, and it is a big derby. I don’t like that to be fair but we have to accept it. ‘For the Premier League it is good – new stadium, they have top players.

But at the end you know Chelsea we won a lot of trophies, they have not, so I hope this continues.’
