Arsenal are exploring the chance of signing Bournemouth assist king Ryan Fraser as Unai Emery looks to bring in a new winger after giving up on Denis Suarez.
The Spanish coach is looking to strengthen his squad with as many as five new signings in the upcoming window.
The Barcelona loanee, who played under Unai Emery at Sevilla, was supposed to fill the void but has not impressed and is struggling to adapt to the Premier League.
According to The Times, Denis Suarez’s failure to make an impact at Emirates has led to Unai Emery drawing up a list of alternative options, with Ryan Fraser one of the top names on the list.
The Arsenal boss wants more threat from out wide, and Ryan Fraser certainly provides that, having laid on ten assists in the Premier League this term – only Eden Hazard (11) has more.
The Scotland star has also scored six times, while his versatility – capable of playing on either flank or as a classical No.10 – adds to his appeal.
The Scotland international is also out of contract in 2020 and is not close to signing a new deal, meaning the Cherries could be forced to sell this summer rather than risk losing him for free in a year.
The Gunners are likely to have to be creative in the transfer market this window, with Unai Emery working on a very tight budget unless players can be sold and the wage bill reduced.
While the option to make Denis Suarez’s loan move permanent exists, Unai Emery has opted not to keep his compatriot after making just four unspectacular substitute appearances.
