A Chinga Boys High School student from Nyeri County was in the morning found dead on his bed.
The boy was found to have tied his bed sheets around his neck.
School principal Kiringo M’eringo said it is still not clear what could have led the average, well behaved student to take his own life.
The students reportedly went to bed as usual after their evening preps and it was then that the boy committed suicide.
Other students in the same dormitory had to spend the night in the cold of the classroom as the dormitory became condemned off. M’eringo said that they then called ministry officials and the police who took over the matter.
The body was taken by the police and is at Kiriani Mission mortuary awaiting post mortem to give more answers as to what transpired.
