The French World Cup winning left-back has struggled with injuries during his first two years with the Sky Blues.
Mendy is back in first team training, but there are now doubts whether he’ll get another chance to play for Pep Guardiola.
The 24-year-old has only played 9 Premier League matches this season.
It’s worth noting Mendy contributed five assists in those games.
Mendy is under contract with City until 2023.

Video is now being shared on social media of Benjamin Mendy clubbing before last weekend’s league match at Fulham.
According to reports Mendy was out partying in Manchester until 3.30am.
The press has asked Guardiola for his reaction to Mendy’s behavior, and the Man City boss tried to downplay the incident:
They are old enough to know what they have to do, I’m not his father.
I would prefer him to go home earlier but I don’t control the players in that situation.
I’m not frustrated, I’m a relaxed guy. It might not look like it but I sleep quite well. [And] yes – he’s fit.
This is the second time Mendy has been pulled up for his off-field activities this season.
Back in September the defender was reprimanded by his manager after Mendy was late for training following a night out in London for the Anthony Joshua vs Alexander Povetkin boxing match.
