How Uthamaki block unity is being scattered by Raila and Ruto political interests

The recent bitter exchange between The Deputy President William Ruto and the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is causing a sudden fallout in the Mt. Kenya Region.

The Uthamaki since independence have always voted as a block. Throwing all their support to one of their own.

But with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s term coming to an end the region is struggling to find the next kingpin.

Moses Kuria has been on the verge of political rise recently. He has even declared his presidential ambition.

One of the issues that have come up over the uncertainty of relations between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto is the perception of dependability of the Mt. Kenya vote bloc in forming political alliances.

The President once stated that his 2022 choice will shock many.

This has left the pro-Ruto camp asking question whether the pact in still intact.

Jubilee Secretary General even left the future of DP Ruto hanging when he stated that their is no signed memorandum between the two.

But DP Ruto has continued to fight for his position forming a strong base with legislatures from both Rift Valley and Central Kenya. The Likes of Kiambu governor Ferdinard Waititu , Kimani Ngunjiri all pledging their loyalty to DP Ruto.

But Raila presence has caused a lot of tension in the DP Ruto’s camp. Most of DP Ruto allies have called for the dismantling of the handshake. The Team tangatanga have tagged Raila Odinga to all their problems.

But Raila has also gained mileage with the recent DP Ruto attacks. Politicians such as Maina Kamanda are leaning towards Raila’s side.

This will eventually go fifty if President Uhuru betrays DP Ruto in 2022.

The few hanging few will definitely join Moses Kuria’s side depending on how well he will scuffle his cards.
