Transfer roundup: Philippe Coutinho wants Manchester move as Sadio Mane readies for Real Madrid

The end of the final international break of the season means we have entered the business end of the campaign, with just six weeks remaining of the Premier League season.

There is still plenty to be decided but preparations for the summer transfer window are already well underway, as clubs begin to paint a picture of what their side will look like next year.

As a result, there is plenty of transfer speculation floating about and a lot of that comes from the continent, a market where Premier League clubs usually dip into when looking to bolster their ranks.

In order to keep you on top of all the goings on, we have gathered some of the latest rumours and gossip from across Europe.

We start in Spain, where Barcelona ace Philippe Coutinho has admitted to Sport that leaving the club this summer may be the best thing for his career – which may spark the attention of Manchester United.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move for the former Liverpool ace, who has struggled to prove his worth in Catalonia since leaving the Premier League in January 2018.

Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Liverpool star Sadio Mane in the summer.

In an interview with Spanish newspaper Marca , Oriol Romeu insisted his former teammate is “ready” for a switch to the La Liga giants.

“He is ready,’” Romeu said. “Madrid are a little weak in attack and he’s the type of player that does a lot of damage in open spaces.

“He could help them reverse their current situation. He brings variation in attack, but he’s not a prolific goalscorer like Cristiano Ronaldo , who goes well above [other forwards].

“What I would highlight, above all, is his speed.

“He is a very electric and dizzying player. He has exceptional physical and technical qualities.

“At Liverpool he’s grown a lot. This season, he’s enjoying his best season in front of goal.

“I think he’s acquired calmness and composure when finishing moves, either scoring or assisting. That is key.”

Arsenal are looking to raid the Spanish market this summer by securing a move for Eibar midfielder Joan Jordan, Marca states, with the Gunners identifying the 24-year-old as a potential replacement for Aaron Ramsey.

Manchester United could face competition in the market for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly as Real Madrid are also eyeing a move to the Senegal international, AS states, but Napoli are determined not to sell.

Real Madrid’s activity in the transfer market could also prove to be a negative for Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, as AS states the Spanish giants are considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot – who is available on a free transfer this summer.

In Germany, Sky Sport Deutschland report that Tottenham are keen on securing Werder Bremen captain Max Kruse when his contract expires at the end of the season. However, Inter Milan are also eyeing the 31-year-old.

Meanwhile in France, Manchester City face competition in the hunt to secure the services of Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele as Paris Saint-Germain are also eyeing a swoop, L’Equipe reports.
