SRC chair Lyn Mengich said on Wednesday that the commission had started reviewing the multiple allowances paid to 750,000 public servants and that some would be abolished or restructured.

The move has also attracted wild criticism from the Union of Kenya Civil Servants (UKCS) that has said it will go to labor court.

KMPDU which is mandated to improve doctors’ welfare and advocating for Universal Health Care through twitter has stated that it will neither go to court nor negotiate should the proposed policy be effected.

KMPDU will not go to Court. Neither will KMPDU negotiate if SRC withdraws any one of allowances affecting the members, KMPDU promises to equally withdraw all services of doctors, pharmacists and dentists without any notice.” tweeted KMPDU
