From Museveni’s embarrassing Lecture to Kisumu’s Special Cow: Friday’s Most Viral Stories

Who came up with the idea of Yoweri Museveni giving a public lecture at the prestigious Kenyatta University? That man should have been fired like yesterday.

Museveni is an embodiment of everything bad in this society. He shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near civilization. This is a man who has refused to leave power for 33 years.

This is a man who cannot even allow the opposition to cough. He has tortured Bobi Wine and Kiza Besigye.

Hours before the lecture, Kenyan activists had asked KU comrades to give Museveni a test of his own medicine. Heckle him.

Boniface Mwangi mobilized students on Twitter not to give him any peace while on stage.

Museveni’s latest victim is former Makerere University Lecturer Stella Nyanzi, who has been in custody since November last year.

Stella Nyanzi, who was sacked in December, is facing charges of of cyber harassment and offensive communication against President Yoweri Museveni.

And KU comrades did not disappoint as they welcomed Museveni’s convoy with chants of Bobi Wine! Bobi Wine!

At the end, the courageous comrades had to be dispersed with teargas but they had shown Museveni that this is not Uganda.

Away from the Museveni chronicles!

we have our own share of problems back home, so let’s not poke our nose into Uganda that much, we might find our country stolen when we come back.

The latest corruption scandal takes us all the way to Kisumu County, where brother Anyang Nyong’o bought a dairy cow worth sh. 3.7 million!

You know Kisumu is closer to Kampala than Nairobi!!

So Ng’ombe ya milioni moja inakaa aje? Crazy Kenyans believe the cow could be so sophisticated to a point you can download milk.

Or could this be the same cow that killed a lion in Meru?

Or is this the religious cow that has been mentioned in the Bible and Quran?

But jokes aside, someone must be answerable for this wanton stealing of public property.

The Auditor General said a delivery note dated May 2017 showed that the animals were delivered using a truck but the registration number was not indicated as required.

Now Just Imagine a Kisumu resident, who is also a Gor Mahia fan? Friday was a very bad day for this group. Unatoka Kisumu, Jirani yako ni Museveni alafu unashabikia Gor? This group needs to stay away from a rope.

What is happening at Gor Mahia? Have the gods forsaken the husband of all teams?

Gor are set to play Moroccan opponents RS Berkane in the CAF Confederations Cup Quarter Finals but they have been told to look for another venue since the stadium is occupied.

Kasarani is the only CAF accredited stadium in Kenya, meaning Gor Mahia have little options.

This is the latest in a number of setbacks that have befallen the club ahead of their most important game in history.

Kasarani is the only CAF accredited stadium in Kenya, meaning Gor Mahia have little options.

This is the latest in a number of setbacks that have befallen the club ahead of their most important game in history.

Captain Haron Shakava leads a long list of senior players who are suspended for this match.

Red hot striker Jacques Tuyisenge has shaken the club’s hierarchy as it is rumored that he is in Tanzania, signing a pre-contract deal with Simba. Tuyisenge will miss the match through suspension.

Also suspended for both quarter final legs is dependable Uganda International Leftback Shafik Batambuze.

Midfielder Ernest Wendo, who was shown a straight red card for a high boot challenge on a Petro Atletico Player.

But the biggest challenge for Gor is the fact that coach Hassan Oktay has also been suspended for the match.

“Kindly note that coach Oktay is banned from sitting at the touchline bench and accessing the dressing rooms,” Reads part of a statement sent to the club from CAF.

So Gor go into the biggest match in their history with no stadium, no coach, no captain and without their star striker.

When it rains,it pours! The gods of Luo Nyanza must be appeased!

We can’t end the day with all the bad news up there. Time for something positive and non comes better than the fact that President Uhuru Kenyatta today received Peter Tabichi, the award winning Kenyan teacher, at State House.
