Parts of Kenya have been struck by hunger. The Turkana county is the most affected with controversial debates emerging about the issue. The government has been denying the claims that people are dying because of drought while the reports from the ground indicate that lives are actually being lost.

Comedian Eric Omondi has been attacked by Kenyans after his joke went wrong. He is well known of making jokes from every emerging issue. He shared a video of him appearing to be part of the hunger stricken people with a background song that portrayed how the leaders have neglected Kenyans.

However, the video was not funny to most of the people who felt that he was mocking those losing lives out of hunger. They went ahead to flock the comments section with their angry reactions. Here are some of them;

Geoffrey Mwiururi: Yaani badala usaidie wakenya wenzako you are there mocking them surely hi ni uzalendo kweli kabisa you can’t do that na turkana watu wanakufaa na njaa aiii ….nkt!
Bulamu Gabula: This isn’t alaughing matter joh. Nipha Chirry: @Erick,this is not funny at all!!

Unlike Eric, his fellow musician, Akothee has won Kenyans hearts after she stood to help Turkana residents. She took food and water. She even blended so well with the Turkana community that while there she would wear their attires.

Back to Nairobi, she has set up a collection point at Wilson Airport where she requested Kenyans to take their donations in support of the hunger stricken Kenyans.
