25 Burundian women rescued from Human traffickers’ jaws in Kiambu

Detectives from the Transnational Organized Crime, acting on intelligence, raided the home in Kiambu and rescued foreigners.

Mr.Nicholas Mugambi Waigwa’s home was raided and 25 female victims of Human Trafficking-all Burundians.

The Human Traffickers, Ms. Mercy Kaaia, Ms. Lydia Wairimu & Ms. Susan Nyambura Nganga were arrested.

The victims-all aged between 24 years and 33 years-were being held hostage at the said home in Gwa-Kairu area in Kiambu County pending transit to Asian countries.

The recent incidents of human trafficking have been reported in many areas of the country with victims promised lucrative opportunities in the middle East.

Last month, two women were arrested at a house in Fire estate within Nakuru town where DCI rescued 20 beggars who are believed to be from neighbouring country Tanzania.

Kenya has turned to be a hotbed and trading point for transportation of humans to Asian countries with hope to secure jobs.
