Gideon Moi’s Strong Advice to the Kalenjins Regarding the Community’s Image

Baringo Senator and KANU chairman Gideon Moi has appealed to his fellow Kalenjin politicians to protect the community’s image at the national level.

Without being specific, Moi who was speaking in Bomet county on Wednesday, March 27, expressed fear members of the Kalenjin community could be alienated from the rest of Kenyans.

“My message to the people of Bomet and the entire Kalenjin nation is to guard against alienating our community from the rest of Kenyans. We must jealously guard the reputation and the good name of the community that has been built painstakingly over years,” he noted.

His sentiments came in the wake of tense political exchanges between politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto and those drawn from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s backyard.

The bone of contention remains anti-graft efforts in slaying the corruption dragon which Rift Valley leaders have termed political.

So far, Kenya Power boss Ken Tarus and his predecessor Ben Chumo, Newton Terer of National Cereals and Produce Board and Kenya Pipeline Corporation’s former boss Joe Sang are some of top parastatal heads from the community linked to mega corruption cases.
