As his legal fight against former employers Chelsea slowly grinds its way through arbitration and a probably settlement, Antonio Conte is surely getting ready to re-enter the workforce this summer and return to doing the thing he loves most, coaching and inspiring and winning.
It’s safe to say that won’t be happening at Chelsea, even if we decide to not retain his replacement, Maurizio Sarri beyond the current season (which is looking fairly likely still).
According to former Italian Football Federation president Carlo Tavecchio, whom we should thank for letting Conte go in 2016, Antonio’s new job will be back home in Italy.
“Conte wants to get back to coaching in Italy. He’s a true leader, an added value for our football. I still have affection for Antonio.
“I regret that had I given him the money he asked for in 2016, we probably would’ve gone to the World Cup.”

Conte has been linked with usual suspects Inter Milan and AS Roma, as well as a return to Juventus, from where Max Allegri may be moving on for whatever reason.
