‘Orengo has reached political menopause,’ Ruto’s ally hits back

Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut has accused Senate Minority Leader James Orengo of insincerity in politics following his latest debate on impeachment of Deputy President William Ruto.

At a rally in Ugenya over the weekend, Orengo vowed to initiate impeachment motion against the DP over alleged gross misconduct, a move that has elicited tough political debate.

“The DP can also be removed for gross misconduct. The threshold for the removal of Deputy President on constitutional grounds is much lower than going through a criminal trial or prosecution,” Orengo said.

He added, “After his removal the President is allowed to appoint a new one with the approval of the National Assembly.

But in a rejoinder, Chepkut observed that the Siaya senator should now consider quitting politics, adding that he no longer has important contributions to make to the country.

“Orengo Has Reached Political Menapouse. He Fought Mzee Kenyatta,Mzee Moi ,Mzee Kibaki,Uhuru Kenyatta and Now The Next President Dr William Ruto,” he wrote.

The former aide to Nicholas Biwott added: “James Orengo comes from a county with one of the most corrupt and incompetent administrations headed by Cornel Rasanga, a non-achiever who leaves Siaya in 2022 worse than he found it. I would first make devolution work in Luoland before thinking about ousting Ruto.”
