Muslim groups fight over Sh1 billion property in Eldoret town

If you thought the Ekeza sacco drama was the most scandalous you thought wrong.Well then brace up for a bigger war in more scams by different groups coning members plenty of cash.

A split Muslim group is embroiled in are in bitter disagreement as two groups viciously battle over property ownership worth over sh 1 billion within Eldoret town.

The chairman of North Rift Youth Daawa group Suleiman Ewaton and a section of Muslims have moved to the High Court in Eldoret beseeching the court to compel the County Director of Criminal Investigations to carry out investigations into the alleged misuse of the association’s properties including donor funds.

In a sworn affidavit before court, Ewaton argues that since 1990 the respondents have not handed over the association’s properties to the new committee members.

They want the respondents to avail rent records for one of the commercial buildings which they claim has accrued an income of Ksh 57 million over an eight year period.

They alleged that members of the Muslim association have been disposing properties of the association without the consent or knowledge of members.

The multi-billion shillings properties include several bank accounts, a prime six-acre piece of land in the affluent Elgon View estate, a commercial building in the CBD, several primary and secondary schools and several rental plots in Pioneer estate.

They alleged that members of the Muslim association have been disposing properties of the association without the consent or knowledge of members.

The multi-billion shillings properties include several bank accounts, a prime six-acre piece of land in the affluent Elgon View estate, a commercial building in the CBD, several primary and secondary schools and several rental plots in Pioneer estate.

They want investigations over the division of the mosque plot block 6/110 which he claims was sub-divided illegally into four plots.

Other properties in dispute include Eldoret municipality Block 5/205, Block 5/749, Block 6/100, Block 6/104, Block 6/110, Block 6/113, Block 6/114, Block 6/117 and Block6/98
