Only sixteen days before Juventus travel to Amsterdam to take on Galactico topplers Ajax in the Champions League Quarter-Final first-leg, the Old Lady will be sweating after Cristiano Ronaldo was withdrawn on the half-hour tonight whilst in action for Portugal.

Things got off to the perfect start for the visitors when Dusan Tadic converted a seventh-minute penalty after Mijat Gacinovic was poleaxed by Rui Patricio in the Portuguese goal.

The injury to their talisman would further compound matters for Fernando Santos’ side, but they were able to equalise before half-time through Porto midfielder Danilo Pereira.

Club manager Max Allegri will be anxious to hear about the severity of the superstar’s injury, knowing that anything worse than a minor strain would surely put his participation in the first of the two-legged tie in major doubt.
