Julie Gichuru blasts Kenyan Media

Former Citizen TV news anchor Julie Gichuru has expressed her dissapointment in the Kenyan Media.

The former TV queen urged that if the that she was worried that if the media doesn’t achieve a healthy balance of positive and inspirational coverage we will become a despairing nation.

While taking to instagram she wrote, If we do not achieve a healthy balance of positive, inspirational coverage amid the usual news narratives we will increasingly become a despairing nation. Yet there is so much to celebrate and emulate out there. Mainstream media drives me nuts!” 

Her comment came as a response to one David Muriithi who posted with dissapointed after Peter Tabichi’s tabichi’s news failed to hit the newspaper headline after he won the global prize of the best teacher .

Julie further tookm to twitter to vent on the same  “Dear Kenyan newspapers, Why on earth is @PeterTabichi @TeacherPrize win not a headline? The rest of the world has his story front and centre but you don’t see the merit? That’s why I don’t buy newspapers anymore. #Priorities #HongeraTabichi #AfricaForTheWin #GESF #GTP Prize.”
