39 years record and piece of land, Tanzania’s double blessings in AFCON 2019

The Tanzania win against Uganda has come with blessings which dates back to 1980.

Tanzania’s President John Magufuli has promised to give each player in the national football team a piece of land as a reward for qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time in 39 years.

Dr. Magufuli hosted the team at his official residence in the main city, Dar es Salaam, after they qualified for Egypt 2019 by beating Uganda 3-0 on Sunday.

The win which caused a lot of reactions from Tanzanian celebrities was the break of 39 years out of AFCON.

“For the good work you have done to bring honour to Tanzania by qualifying for Afcon finals in Egypt, each player will get a parcel of land in Dodoma [the administrative capital],” the president said.

The president also had donated Ksh 43 million to Serengeti boys which is in 2019 under- 17 AFCON.
