Pilot crashes plane into clubhouse following a marital dispute in an attempt to Kill his wife

An aviator has died after apparently crashing a plane into a clubhouse in Botswana.

According to media reports, the pilot ‘deliberately’ crashed the plane into a clubhouse and ATC tower at Matsieng Aerodrome in an attempt to kill his wife after a domestic dispute.

On Sunday, the Matsieng Flying Club issued a statement on the pilot’s death.

“Earlier in the afternoon, the deceased pilot was an uninvited guest at a private function that was held at the Matsieng Flying Club facility at Matsieng Aerodrome.

It is rumoured that the pilot was involved in a domestic dispute earlier in the afternoon,” it said in a statement.

It is reported that people were evacuated after he allegedly made a number of low fly pasts from different directions.

“Matsieng Flying Club members sensed that the pilot might have had an ulterior motive at the time and ordered an immediate evacuation of the club premises by the approximately fifty attendees,” read the statement.

The club said its facility and Matsieng ATC tower were destroyed on impact.

It said the post-impact fire destroyed 13 parked vehicles.

There was no serious injury to any person in the vicinity of the accident scene, the club added.
